Here's a way to help the less fortunate

Family Medicine Doctors Help Collect
Gift Cards and Rolls of Quarters for Housing Hope

Western Washington Medical Group (WWMG) Family Medicine is pleased to announce that it will host a gift card and rolls of quarters drive for Housing Hope of Everett during the month of March. Members of the public who would like to donate a gift card or coins can drop them off at the Silver Lake Medical Center at 12728 19th Avenue SE, Suite 300, Everett, WA 98208, across the street from the Silver Lake Elementary School. Or call 425-225-2755 to learn more.

“We had such a great response to the Toys for Tots drive,” remarked Carla DeWolf of Western Washington Medical Group Family Medicine, “that we decided to host several charity drives throughout the year.”  She went on to remark that Housing Hope was chosen because it provides safe, decent, and affordable housing for struggling families.  “We support the work that Housing Hope does in the community and we recognize that emergency shelter, transitional housing, and critical services are needed in this difficult economy.  I believe that the Silver Lake and surrounding community will support this in a big way.”

Gift cards of $10-25 will be used to purchase program supplies for Tomorrow’s Hope Childcare Center and College of Hope. These programs support homeless families with the resources and tools they need to become self-sufficient.  The gift cards will also be given to homeless families when they move into a shelter to provide basic need items, food, or gas, and also help the specific needs of homeless children.  The rolls of quarters will provide money to do a load of laundry—something we consider so basic but something that can be so difficult for a homeless family. Every load costs $2.50 and four loads a week can really add up. For the homeless, it might be a financial impossibility without help.

Grocery store cards from Safeway, Albertson, QFC, and department store cards from Fred Meyer, Wal-mart and Target are Housing Hope’s greatest need items and with help from the community, they can be used to change the life of a homeless family.
